02 Nov Anaka steps up at the annual Headmasters awards
An iconic part of the Australian (hairdressing) industry awards circuit, the Headmaster Championships has been spring-boarding the country’s next generation of successful stylists for well over a decade.
It’s considered integral to the growth of the industry and welcomes entrants from right across Australia – each vying for recognition and a profile-boost to reach that next career stage.
We’re so proud to announce Anaka’s star apprentice Stevie Harris took out runner-up for Headmasters Academy On The Job Apprentice of the Year Award.
“I am incredibly proud of myself, yeah, I didn’t come first but to be acknowledged and praised by members of an industry that I love is such a humbling and motivating gift. This second place gives me drive. I am determined to stay focused, to put my art first, learn everything that I can, embrace all of the opportunities presented to me and to create just as many for myself – totally submerging myself in anything and everything hair.”
“Looking at my portfolio my growth is something that I can physically see and it fills me with such overwhelming fire and pride – nothing makes me feel better than seeing a happy client. Making somebody feel beautiful and see the good in themselves (that is easily seen by others but so hard to find in the mirror) is one of the most amazing perks of my job and it’s something I want to feel every day for the rest of my life.”
Stevie’s investment in hair and his clients is infectious, and something we truly cherish here at Anaka. Come on in and experience it for yourself!
